I'll photograph any kind of animal you keep as a pet! But let's face it, this is Squamish where dogs rule the town! As a professional dog walker, I’ve walked literally hundreds of different dogs, including a wide range of breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I love how each one is unique in their mannerisms, expressions and ways of moving. Since I have the opportunity to watch a lot of dogs in action - running, playing, and basically living their best lives - this naturally carries into my pet photography practice too!

I love photographing animals in motion. While I also love classic portraiture, and will gladly explore this style with pets that are naturally calm, or dogs that are well trained at basic “sit/stay” commands, I prefer not to ask an animal to conform to a pre-determined notion of an ideal pose. Rather, I like to explore the full range of that creature’s natural expression of movement, form and character. Most of the dogs I work with won’t stay still for more than a split second, and that’s ok, because a split second is all I need to capture that momentary glance at the camera, or a ponderous gaze into the distance, and turn it into a moment that will last forever. As a photojournalist I’m used to documenting the world as it is, as opposed to staging it as I wish it to be. Whatever your fur baby’s particular personality calls for, I will do my best to express their true nature in a way that you will treasure for a lifetime.
